We chose an abstract painting from a famous artist; I chose Van Gogh's famous painting, "The Church." We used Adobe Illustrator to create the image above, by choosing three colors, as well as black and white, and by only using rectangles.
Using Adobe Illustrator, we designed a poster to inform students, designers, and other people in interest of a lecture series going on throughout the semester.
Using Adobe Illustrator we created a grid system using guides. We first had to create one with grey, black, and white. Within this grid system each color had to alternate along with letter's in different sizes in each box. I chose my initials and in each box they were a different color and size. Our second assignment was to create the same grid, but choosing three colors of our own and doing the same to it as the grey, pink, and purple.
By using Photoshop we took a large "plain" photo and added other photo's to it to create a collage. My first is a playground, and I added the child on the swing, slide, and added a little girl running and then a soccer ball to make her look like she was doing something active.
My second collage was a picture of the beach and I added two little girls, a sandcastle, and a shark fin in the ocean.
I took a black and white photo of Marlene Dietrich and edited it with photoshop. I used a different layer for her skin tone, eye color, hair color, dress color, fan color, and her backdrop. I also used different opacities for each layer to soften her look, as well as using the overlay tool to soften the color.
